# How can I archive existing products that are not in the feed?

To archive products that exist in your store but are no longer present in your supplier feed, you need to use a Remove Feed (Auto Clear Discontinued) linked to your Update Feed. The Remove Feed checks which products are missing from the Update Feed and archives them based on your settings.

Steps:
1. Open the **Update Feed Details** page and click **Setup here** under **Auto Clear Discontinued**, or go to **New Setup > Remove** and choose the **Auto Clear Discontinued** template.
2. Select the existing **Update Feed** that should be used for the comparison.
3. Review the **Store Product Filters** and limit them to the relevant supplier or product group (for example, by Vendor, Tag, or SKU). Products excluded by these filters are not evaluated.
4. In **Advanced Settings**, select **Archive products**.
5. Check the matching settings and keep **Partial Match disabled** if a multi-variant product should be archived only when all of its variants are missing from the feed.
6. Click **Finish**. The Remove Feed runs automatically after the linked Update Feed detects unmatched products. You can also run the Update Feed first and then the Remove Feed manually.

Before running the full process, use **Preview Sync** or review the **Not in Feed/Unmatched Variants** results to confirm that the intended products are matched and the correct products are listed as missing. If the Remove Feed completes but products remain, first verify that the linked Update Feed has finished processing and that the expected products appear as unmatched. Confirm that the Remove Feed uses the **Auto Clear Discontinued** method and that its matching columns refer to the same identifier columns used by the Update Feed (for example, the relevant column indexes). Then run the linked Update Feed again, or start the Remove Feed manually after the update has completed. If the products still are not archived, provide sample SKUs for investigation.

Variant-level archiving is not supported. If only one variant is missing while other variants remain in the feed, the product stays published; use the **Out-of-Stock Strategy** to set the missing variant's quantity to 0. To archive discontinued products and set their quantity to 0, enable the Out-of-Stock Strategy in the Update Feed before running the linked Remove Feed.

If products are archived unexpectedly, check that the Remove Feed is linked to the correct Update Feed and that its Store Product Filters do not include products from other suppliers. Products without SKUs are not triggered by SKU-based matching. If a product was archived by mistake, use **Undo** where available; you can also restore it in Shopify by filtering archived products and setting them to Active.
