# How can I set a specific inventory location for my Shopify store?

To update inventory in a specific Shopify location, Stock Sync requires that each feed be assigned to only one location. First, ensure the location exists in your Shopify admin under **Settings → Locations**. Once the location is created, open the Stock Sync feed, map the **Quantity** field, open **Smart Settings**, and select the location to update.

If products may exist at another location but not at the selected location, enable **Auto add stock to location if not there**. This adds the product’s stock at the selected location when the SKU matches. Make sure the SKU in the feed matches the product SKU in Shopify; transformations such as prefix removal must produce the exact matching SKU.

If you need to update multiple locations (for example, different warehouses or countries), create a separate update feed for each location and map the correct quantity value for each one. Adding a new Shopify location does not automatically reassign existing feeds, so verify the location selected in each feed after creating a location.

Changing a feed’s location updates only the newly selected location; it does not remove quantities from the previous location. To move inventory, run a separate **Bulk product edit** update feed for the old location, select that location under **Quantity → Smart Settings**, and set the quantity to 0. Then run the feed for the new location with the correct quantities.
