# How can I update only the price and quantity fields in my product feed?

To synchronize inventory without overwriting Shopify prices, create or edit an **Update Feed** and, in Step 2 (the Matching Column section), keep the **Product Identifier** mapped to SKU and map **Quantity** to the supplier’s stock field. Remove the **Price** mapping and any other fields you do not want to change. Stock Sync updates only mapped fields, so unmapped prices, descriptions, tags, alt text, product types, and metafields remain unchanged.

For automatic updates, enable a schedule. You can also select **Start process** to run a manual sync immediately; a Preview Sync does not make actual Shopify changes. If products are excluded by a **Published** filter, change it to **Any** or adjust the filter as needed. Use the Out of Stock Strategy carefully, because products missing from the feed can be set to quantity 0.

If you also need to synchronize prices for some products but preserve manual prices for tagged products, add a Price field Smart Settings condition such as **“Do not update when Product tag is [tag]”**. Tagged products can continue receiving quantity updates while their Shopify prices remain manual.

To import future new products, create a separate **Add Feed**. An Update Feed updates existing products and does not import new ones.
