# How do I enable the Out of Stock Strategy for my product feed?

To enable the Out of Stock Strategy in your Update Product feed, follow these steps:

• Map the **Quantity** field in **Step 2 – Field Mapping**. The strategy requires a mapped quantity field.
• Open your Update Product feed and go to **Step 4 – Advanced Settings**.
• Find the **Out of Stock Strategy (OOS)** option and enable it.
• Choose one of the available modes:
  – **Set out of stock to ZERO Quantity (Current feed)** – sets all unmatched items in this feed to 0.
  – **Previously synced by Stock Sync** – sets to 0 only items that were previously updated by any feed (Shopify only).
• In **Step 3 – Filters**, apply **Store Product Filters**—for example, by vendor, tag, category, or SKU—so only the intended products are affected, especially when multiple suppliers share the store. For example, if all products managed by a feed share a tag such as `Nugnes`, use **Tag = Nugnes** to limit the strategy to those products.

The strategy sets unmatched products or variants to quantity 0, preventing old stock levels from remaining when products are removed from the supplier feed. It only runs when the feed has at least one matched product; if the result is **No matches found**, the strategy is prevented to avoid setting unrelated products to zero.

If products with quantity 0 must remain active so customers can sign up for restock notifications, do not use a filter that excludes zero-quantity incoming items. For products with upcoming stock, use the feed’s inventory-policy mapping to keep them available for preorder; the Out of Stock Strategy is for products unmatched in the feed.
