# How to set the current date-time for a date metafield?

To update the metafield date, two steps need to be followed:

### Set Up in Shopify Admin

* Navigate to **Settings > Custom Data > Products/Variants > Add Definition**.

### How to Configure in Stock Sync

* Select the **Metafield** option in Stock Sync.

* Choose the field set up in Shopify admin.

* Use the static value option and add the value as {{current_date}} so it will take the current date.
