# How to update Metafield date content type in Shopify?

To update the metafield date, two steps need to be followed:

### Set Up in Shopify Admin

* Navigate to **Settings > Custom Data > Products/Variants > Add Definition**.

* Ensure the date format in your feed file follows this format: YYYY-MM-DD (e.g., 2024-05-16).

### How to Configure in Stock Sync

* Select the **Metafield** option in Stock Sync.

* Choose the field set up in Shopify admin.
