# If suppliers can't install the Shopify app, use the Shopify Public connection.

The Shopify Public Store connection method enables inventory retrieval from other Shopify stores, serving as a scraping mechanism.

Follow these steps to connect:

|| Shopify Public connections are limited to 25,000 items due to Shopify API limitations. It also requires that the store is not password protected.

1. Click **Set up new feed,** then select **Add new products to store** or **Update existing products to store** and continue.

2. Search for **Shopify Public Store**.

3. On the feed settings page, replace the **[store name]** in the endpoint (URL) field with the desired Shopify store name.

4. The rest of the field just follows the template given.

5. Click **Next** to proceed to the Matching Column section, which is pre-filled.

||| The Cost and Barcode fields are not editable. Inventory quantities can only be updated using quantity rules: items marked "available" (true) will update to 50 stock, while "not available" (false) items will update to 0. 6. Once completed, click **Start process** to run it.
