# Product Type Field

|| If the feed file doesn't have any column as a product type and you want to apply all the product types as Pant for all your products. You can use [fixed value](https://help.stock-sync.com/en/article/how-to-set-fixed-value-ccjtgf/) to set it.

The **product type** field is for a set of common specific characteristics in products or goods.  

||| It is also supported with multiple columns values. 

There is a setting for this field which is:

# 1. Only update if the current product type is empty (Only Shopify Update Feed)

The toggle icon will update the empty product type in the Shopify store.

| For example: To update products with **NO product type** without disrupting the products with product type, **enable** this option.
