# Status Field

Manage product visibility states in your store by mapping the **Status** field in Stock Sync. This field allows you to set products as **Active**, **Draft**, **Archived**, or **Unlisted** dynamically from your feed file data or via fixed values.

## How to Set Up Status Field

Go to **Stock Sync** → **Setup New Feed** / **Edit Feed** → **Step 2: Matching Column**

1. **Map Field**: Click **Add more field** and select **Status** from the target field dropdown.
2. **Select Source**: Choose the feed file column containing your status data, or select **Fixed Value** if applying a static status to all items.
3. **Configure Field Settings**: Click the gear icon on the **Status** row to set your status indicators.
4. **Save Changes**: Click **Save** and proceed to run your feed.

|| Ensure products are published before setting them to active or draft.

||| If you want to use auto-publish, unmap the **Status** field, as mapping it overrides the auto-publish setting in **Step 4 (Advanced Settings)**.

### 1. Active Indicator
Sets products to the **Active** status in your online store, making them live and available to customers.

### 2. Draft Indicator
Sets products to the **Draft** status, hiding them from your online storefront while keeping them in your admin catalog.

### 3. Archived Indicator
Sets products to the **Archived** status to remove them from active sales channels while retaining historic store data.

### 4. Unlisted Indicator
Sets products to the **Unlisted** status when supported by your storefront platform.

### 5. Fixed Value Option
If your feed file lacks a status column, choose **Fixed Value** under the source dropdown to set a static status across all products in the feed.

| Selected Value | Store Effect |
| ---- | ---- |
| `Active` | Sets products to live and visible on your storefront. |
| `Draft` | Sets products to hidden draft state. |
| `Archived` | Archives products from active store management. |

## Key Rules & Technical Details

- **Case-Sensitivity**: All status indicators entered in the settings are case-sensitive and must match the text in your feed file exactly (e.g., `Active` vs `active`).
- **Priority Override**: Mapping the **Status** field directly in **Step 2** overrides any global auto-publish or status rules configured in **Step 4 (Advanced Settings)**.

## Troubleshooting Steps

* **Issue**: Product status is not updating in the store → **Solution**: Check that the indicator string in your settings matches the feed file cell value exactly, including letter case.
* **Issue**: Auto-publish setting in Step 4 is being ignored → **Solution**: Unmap the **Status** field in Step 2 to allow the global Step 4 auto-publish settings to take effect.
