# What settings should I check when products won’t update or import?

If products cannot be added or updated, check these settings:

• Confirm whether the feed is set to Add Products or Update Products. If it is set to Update, new items will not appear in the mapping.

• Review file settings and mapping to ensure the columns are correctly detected. Adjusting file settings may restore missing mapping fields.

• Check product filters, including tag filters. If product tags do not match the filter values, the items will be skipped during updates.

These checks usually resolve issues where only one item appears in mapping or where products fail to update.
