# Why I keep getting the error: "Product is suspended"

This error is returned directly from Shopify’s API. A **suspended** product status means the product is no longer available for sale, and its details cannot be updated or edited.

This status is controlled by Shopify and cannot be manually changed or removed by merchants.

Shopify may apply this status if the product violates its policies, for example:
* Intellectual property or copyright infringement
* Prohibited or restricted products
* Violations of Shopify’s Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy

**How to avoid this error in SyncX: Stock Sync:**
* Remove (delete) the suspended product directly from your Shopify store if it is no longer needed.
* Use the **Store** **Product** **Filter** feature in **Step 3** of syncX: Stock Sync to **exclude** the **suspended product** from future syncs. This prevents the app from trying to update a product that Shopify has locked.

If your product is suspended:
1. Check your email for any notifications from Shopify
2. Review any alerts or warnings in your Shopify admin
3. Follow the instructions provided by Shopify
4. Submit an appeal if you believe the suspension was applied incorrectly

Since this status is managed by Shopify, you’ll need to contact Shopify Support or their compliance team directly for further resolution.
