# Why only the first variant image was updated?

### Problem
The parent SKU metafield **PJ647700** has 8 variants sharing the **same product identifier** and the **"Black/Black"** colour option.

When **Update duplicate products with same product identifier** is disabled, the import process updates only the **first matching variant** it finds. As a result, only the first variant receives the image update while the remaining variants are skipped.

### Solution
See below for how to update all variant images:

###### Step 1: Enable Duplicate Product Updates

Navigate to **Product Identifier Smart Settings** and enable:
✅ **Update duplicate products with same product identifier**

This allows the importer to update all variants that share the same product identifier instead of stopping at the first match.

###### Step 2: Re-import Images for Existing Variants

Since the image was already imported and attached to the first variant, the importer may skip importing it again during subsequent runs.
Navigate to **Image Smart Settings** and select:
✅ **Skip existing images, import new images**
