What to do when there's an error as "Authentication failed. Please check your login and password."


Reason


  • The username or password provided to connect the source is incorrect.


Solution


  • Please make sure that the authorization part is correct in the Feed Setting Step.
  • Make sure the username and password got from the supplier it's correct before setting it up in the Stock Sync.
  • If the credentials are confirmed correct but the connection still fails, try switching the connection method (for example, from Download URL to REST API) in Feed Settings Step 1, then test the connection again.
  • Ensure the FTP hostname is correctly formatted (for example, ftp.example.com) and does not include http:// or folder paths.
  • Double‑check that the directory path and filename match exactly, including case sensitivity.
  • If the server requires whitelisting, confirm that Stock Sync’s static IP (52.20.189.51) has been added.
  • If authentication still fails despite correct credentials, please ask the supplier or hosting provider to verify that the FTP account is active and accessible from external servers.
