Auto publish or hide and archive products
This feature will help you to unpublish or archive when the stock level or quantity is zero. Moreover, it can publish live when it restocks or when stock comes back. To use this feature, enable Inventory Tracked under Quantity > Smart setting.
If products are archived while they still have stock, check the following settings:
- Auto Archive Products should only be used when the product or its variants have zero quantity. Select No action if you do not want Stock Sync to archive products automatically.
- Auto archiving applies only when all variants have zero quantity across all locations and Continue selling when out of stock is disabled. Stock available at another location should therefore prevent archiving.
- If archived products should become available again when they return to the feed with stock, enable Auto Publish Products for every relevant Update Feed. Products are republished as live, not draft.
- If the product is missing from the feed rather than merely out of stock, review the linked Auto Clear Discontinued Remove Feed and its Store Product Filter. Products no longer found in the feed are archived by default, independently of their inventory quantity.
1. Auto Publish Products
Products are visible for purchase in the storefront only if at least one variant has a quantity greater than zero.
When Auto Publish is enabled and a product meets the in‑stock condition, it will be published as live, not as draft.
(a) No action: Don't make any changes

(b) Matching products within a feed file: Auto publish all the matching products within the feed file but the variant quantity should be more than zero.

(c) All filtered products in store: Auto publishes all products in store which applied with filter if any one of the variants has a quantity of more than zero.

This option automatically removes products from the storefront so they are no longer visible or purchasable by customers, while still keeping them in the store dashboard.
Auto archiving occurs only when all variants have zero quantity across all locations and the “Continue selling when out of stock” option is disabled. If Continue selling when out of stock is enabled, the product remains active even when all variant quantities are zero, so it can continue to be sold. Products with zero stock and incoming inventory or pre-order information can therefore remain active; the auto-archive feature does not support additional metafield conditions.

(c) All filtered products in store: Auto archive all filtered products in store if any one of the variants has zero quantity or less than zero included in all locations. Continue selling when out of stock should be disabled.

3. Auto unpublish products
This unpublishes the product from all sales channels, preventing customers from seeing or buying it. The product remains in your store dashboard but is no longer live. This action occurs when all variant quantities are zero in all locations and continued selling out of stock is disabled.

4. Auto unlisted products
This action unlists the product, removing it from public view (search results, collections) while keeping it in your store backend, accessible via direct link. This is equivalent to hiding the product from customers while maintaining it in your inventory. Unlisting occurs when all variant quantities are zero across all locations and continued out-of-stock selling is disabled.

(b) All filtered products in store: Auto unlisted all filtered products in store if any one of the variants has zero quantity or less than zero included in all locations. Continue selling when out of stock should be disabled.
