Shopify store (Real time quantity sync)

Requirements

Shopify Store (Real-Time Quantity Sync) pulls the quantity from a main Shopify store and updates it instantly in another store (sub-store). It keeps inventory aligned without manual updates.

  • Main store installs syncX: Stock Sync (free plan is sufficient).
  • Sub-store requires a paid plan for one-way sync. Any paid plan is sufficient; select the tier based on the number of Update Feeds, the store’s product/variant allowance, and any scheduled update feeds you also need.
  • Two-way sync requires paid plans on both stores.

Supported Data: Real-time sync supports Quantity only.Real-time sync triggers only when quantity changes occur in the main store. Only products that receive inventory changes after the feed is activated will sync. Existing quantities will not align automatically until you run a manual or scheduled sync to initialize matching stock levels. Only matching SKUs or barcodes will update — non‑matching products are ignored.

For an initial alignment, run a one-time update feed using Shopify Store (requires the Stock Sync app) before enabling or relying on real-time sync. You can use Sync Preview to generate a change log without updating the destination; disable preview and run the feed again to apply the quantities. To test safely, filter the feed to a small number of SKUs.

If a product is missing from the selected destination location, Stock Sync can now automatically assign it to that location during real‑time sync, ensuring quantities still update correctly.

Setup Instructions

  1. In Create New Feed, select Update Existing Products in Store.
  2. Select Shopify Store (Real Time Quantity Sync) and confirm.
  3. Enter the Public Token from the main store’s Manage Account into the sub-store.
  4. Select the inventory Location from the main store.
  5. Proceed to Matching Column (Step 2) — fields are auto-mapped.
  6. Select the Quantity field in Smart Settings if linking to specific sub-store locations.
  7. In the Quantity field's Smart Setting, choose to update the quantity when decreasing or to any quantity for sub-stores from the main store.
  8. Finally, you can download the SKU Update Report (Last 24 Hours) to review recent quantity changes.

Example:

Two-way sync allows both stores to send and receive quantity updates from each other, keeping inventory aligned on both sides.

  • Both stores must complete the same setup.
  • Both stores require paid plans for two-way quantity sync.
