Store Product Filter

Filter and target specific products in your store to control which items are updated or exported. Using Store Product Filters prevents feeds from overwriting unrelated inventory, keeps manual adjustments safe, and reduces scanned variants to help you stay within your plan quota.

Available on: ✔️ Update | ✔️ Export

How to Set Up Store Product Filters

Go to App → Feed Settings → Step 3: Filter

  1. Navigate to Store Filter: Scroll down to the Store Product Filter section in Step 3 of your feed settings.
  2. Select Field and Condition: Choose the store attribute to evaluate (e.g., Vendor, Tags, Product Type, or SKU) and set your comparison operator (e.g., Is in, Not Equal to, Matches, or Doesn't match).
  3. Enter Target Values: Input your criteria or select from the dropdown. If a single value contains commas, wrap it in double quotes (e.g., "Animal - Dog, Cat, Cow").
  4. Save and Update: Save your feed settings and run an update to apply the filters.

Store Product Filters evaluate existing products in your store platform—not the incoming raw rows in your supplier feed file.

To filter raw data directly from your feed file before processing, use the Incoming Feed Filter in Step 3.

Store Product Filter Overview

Store Product Filters Smart Settings / Detailed Breakdown

1. Vendor Filter

Include or exclude products based on the vendor assigned in your store. Select Is in to include matching vendors, or Not Equal to to exclude them.

Vendor Is In Filter

(a) Single Vendor: Enter the vendor name (e.g., Vendora) to match only that specific brand.

Multiple Vendors Matches

(b) Multiple Vendors: Enter comma-separated vendor names (e.g., Vendora, Colo) to include products from either vendor.

Vendor With Comma

(c) Vendor with Commas: Enclose vendor names containing commas inside double quotation marks (e.g., "ABC, Ltd").

Combination Vendor Filter

(d) Combination Entry: Combine standard and quoted vendors in one filter line (e.g., Colo, "ABC, Ltd").

If your store displays fewer products under a vendor filter than expected, verify that the products have the correct Vendor assigned in Shopify. You can standardize vendor names by mapping the Vendor field in Step 2 with a fixed value during sync.

2. Tags Filter

Include or exclude store products containing specific tags or keywords. Supports multiple comma-separated values.

Tags Filter

Filtering for ABC includes any store product with a tag containing the keyword ABC.

Shopify treats hyphens (-) and spaces as tag separators. For example, a tag like Spring-Sale-20 is indexed by Shopify as three separate tags: Spring, Sale, and 20. A rule set to Doesn't match: sale will unintentionally exclude this product. Use underscores (e.g., Spring_Sale_20) to prevent tag splitting.

3. Product Type Filter

Include or exclude store products based on their assigned Shopify Product Type.

Product Type Filter

Enter single or comma-separated product types to evaluate multiple types in one condition.

4. Product Title Filter

Include or exclude store products based on keywords found within their Shopify product titles.

Product Title Filter

Use this filter to protect custom-titled products or seasonal campaign items from being overwritten by automated feeds.

5. Collection Filter

Filter products by the automated or manual collections that exist in your Shopify store.

Collection Filter

Select one or more existing store collections directly from the dynamic dropdown menu.

6. Published Filter

Filter products based on whether they are published to your store's sales channels.

Published Filter

Choose between Any (ALL), Published, or Unpublished from the dropdown menu.

7. Status Filter

Limit updates strictly to items matching a specific Shopify product lifecycle status.

Status Filter

Select between Active, Draft, Archived, or Unlisted.

To ensure only active items update while drafts and archived lines remain untouched, select Status = Active.

8. SKU Filter

Include or exclude specific store SKUs using comma-separated values, prefix wildcards, or blank SKU detection.

SKU Filter Does Not Match

Prefix Matching: Enter ABC* to target SKUs starting with "ABC" (e.g., ABC-123, ABC134, ABC145, ABC-765).

SKU Filter Matches

Substring Matching: Enter *ABC* to match any SKU containing "ABC" anywhere in the string (e.g., ABC123, 456ABC, 123ABC456).

SKU Filter Blank

Blank SKUs: Enter <blank> to target store products that have an empty SKU field when matching via another identifier like barcode.

9. Product Category Filter

Target store products categorized under standard Shopify taxonomy categories.

Product Category Filter

Select official Shopify categories directly from the dynamically loaded category dropdown.

10. Available Quantity Filter

Target store products based on the available inventory quantity at the specific location configured in Step 2.

Available Quantity Filter

Set numeric thresholds to include or exclude store products based on current inventory levels.

The inventory location is configured under Step 2: Matching Column → Quantity → Smart Settings → Location, not in this filter section. Each feed updates only one location.

11. Combined Listing Role Filter

Filter Shopify Combined Listings based on the variant's designated role.

Combined Listing Role Filter

Choose between Parent, Child, or No role from the dropdown menu.

12. Published Channel (Variant) Filter

Filter store variants based on the specific sales channels where they are published.

Published Channel Filter

This filter is available exclusively for Shopify stores.

13. Include Variants with "Track Quantity"

Includes only store variants that currently have Shopify inventory tracking enabled.

Include Variants with Track Quantity

Enable this toggle to prevent the sync from updating unmanaged or untracked store items.

14. Include Variants Where Available Quantity More Than Zero

Restricts updates exclusively to store variants that currently have an available quantity greater than zero.

Include Variants Where Available Quantity Greater Than Zero

Enable this toggle if you want to avoid overwriting or restocking out-of-stock products in your store.

15. Include Variants Where Available Quantity Less or Equal to Zero Quantity

Restricts updates exclusively to store variants that are currently out of stock or have zero/negative inventory.

Include Variants Where Available Quantity Less or Equal to Zero

Available on: ✔️ Update

Enable this option when running dedicated restock feeds designed to target only sold-out products.

16. Include Variants Exist in Selected Location Under Quantity Field

Filters export files to include only variants physically assigned to the location configured under the Quantity field.

Include Variants Exist in Selected Location

Available on: ✔️ Export

Enable this toggle to generate location-specific export reports.

Key Rules & Technical Details

  • Plan Limit Optimization: Store Product Filters reduce the total number of variants scanned during a sync. Only variants that pass the store filter are scanned and counted toward your plan's variant quota.
  • Isolating Multi-Feed Stores: When multiple feeds update the same store, apply Store Product Filters (such as Vendor or Tag filters) to each feed. This ensures each feed modifies only its own products and prevents unrelated inventory from being zeroed out by Out of Stock strategies.
  • Condition Priority and Evaluation:
Priority sequence: The upper filter has a higher priority than the lower filter.

Consider these two evaluation scenarios:

Scenario 1: Two different fields with distinct filters

Scenario 1 Priority

Scenario 2: Single field with "Matches" and "Doesn't matches"

Scenario 2 Priority

"Matches" includes products that meet the criteria, while "Doesn't matches" excludes them.
  • Wildcard Limitations: Standard Store Product Filters do not support general wildcards, except for prefix (ABC*) and substring (*ABC*) syntax supported specifically within the SKU Filter.

Troubleshooting Steps

  • Issue: Products with hyphenated tags are excluded unexpectedly → Solution: Shopify splits hyphens into multiple words. If using a negative match like Doesn't match: sale, replace hyphens with underscores in Shopify (e.g., Spring_Sale_20) so the tag is evaluated as a single string.
  • Issue: Vendor filter is missing expected store products → Solution: Check the vendor attribute in Shopify for capitalization or spelling discrepancies, or use a fixed value in Step 2 to standardize the vendor field across all items.
  • Issue: A filter entry containing a comma is being split into multiple values → Solution: Wrap any single value that contains commas inside double quotes (e.g., "Animal - Dog, Cat, Cow").
  • Issue: Unrelated products are being marked out of stock by a supplier feed → Solution: Add a Vendor or Tag filter in Step 3 to restrict the update feed strictly to products supplied by that specific vendor.
