Understanding Stock Sync

syncX: Stock Sync helps streamline product and inventory management by handling scheduled updates from suppliers, warehouses, or drop-shippers. While it doesn’t provide real-time updates, it allows store owners to automate repetitive tasks on a defined schedule, saving time and reducing manual errors.

Whether starting fresh or working with an existing catalog, syncX: Stock Sync makes managing product data easier and more efficient.

Key Features

Note: Stock Sync does not support native product bundling or handheld scanner integrations. Real-time quantity sync is only available when syncing quantity from Shopify, BigCommerce, or WooCommerce stores.

  • Works with both new and existing stores
  • Syncs inventory even if products weren’t added via Stock Sync
  • Apply price markups or rules using built-in pricing tools
  • Include or exclude specific products from a feed
  • Remove or archive discontinued or unwanted products
  • Export store inventory to suppliers or vendors
  • Update over 20 product fields (e.g., title, price, tags, images, metafields) using SKU or barcode
  • No rigid column format—only a product identifier and target field are required

Scheduled Sync from Supplier Feeds

Set up feeds to run automatically based on your preferred schedule—hourly, daily, or custom.

Each supplier or inventory source can use its own independent feed. Create one feed per distributor or source, then map each feed to the required Shopify inventory location or metafields. Separate feeds can be used for API, FTP/SFTP, CSV, Google Sheets, Dropbox, or other supported sources. When multiple feeds contribute to inventory, configure quantity rules such as overwriting, adding quantities, or applying a buffer so the sources combine as intended.

For API connections, obtain the supplier's API endpoint, credentials, and documentation. For FTP/SFTP connections, the supplier normally provides the host, username, password, directory, filename, and port; enter these details in the feed so syncX can retrieve the file on schedule.

Supported connection sources:

  • FTP / SFTP
  • Download URLs
  • Google Sheets / Drive
  • Dropbox / OneDrive
  • Email (with attachment)
  • REST APIs and more

Supported file formats:

  • CSV
  • XLS/XLSX
  • XML
  • JSON
  • TXT
  • EDI
  • TSV
  • HTML Table

POS & Inventory System Integration

syncX: Stock Sync can connect with POS systems or offline inventory software—provided they support FTP or REST API access. This allows consistent inventory syncing between physical stores and Shopify.

Built-in Templates & Supplier Support

Stock Sync is a retailer-side synchronization tool, not a supplier marketplace or directory. It moves supplier data after a retailer has agreed to carry the supplier's products and adds the supplier feed themselves. Suppliers can share a connection template with their retailers to make setup easier. Suppliers do not pay for Stock Sync; retailers who subscribe are billed under the standard merchant pricing plans.

For a new supplier integration, the technical team may need API documentation and credentials, including the API endpoint and any required username/password or API key/secret. Compatibility is evaluated before the integration is set up. For supported suppliers, search for the supplier name when creating a feed and use the available template. Turn 14, for example, has a built-in template for add and update feeds.

Feed setup assistance: syncX offers free feed setup assistance. To request help, provide the source file or URL, the fields to update, a sample SKU and expected result, and any filters or conditions. A setup call can also be booked if needed.

Includes templates for well-known suppliers such as:

  • Brands Distribution
  • Matterhorn
  • FragranceX
  • Bewicked
  • MMA Silver Star
  • Dropshipping B2B
  • Houzz
  • And many more
