How to Set Up SEO Title and Meta Description Mapping

Go to App → Feed Settings → Step 2: Matching Column

Select Field Method: Choose whether to map using standard Shopify metafields or dedicated SEO fields.
Map Columns: Map your feed source headers to the corresponding SEO title or description fields.
Configure Smart Settings: Apply fixed values, find and replace rules, or AI generation if needed.

For meta descriptions, you can use fixed values or apply find and replace rules in Smart Settings.

Directly map dedicated SEO fields in Step 2 to update your product search engine listings.

SEO page title and SEO meta description field mapping

SEO Title and Description fields are NOT supported in the Export feed type.

Updating only the SEO page title reverts the SEO meta description to the default product description.

Updating only the SEO meta description reverts the SEO page title to the default product title.

Updating both the SEO page title and SEO meta description simultaneously prevents these automatic default resets.

Fixed Values: Set a standardized meta description across all imported products using fixed values.
Find and Replace: Clean up or format metadata titles and descriptions automatically during feed processing.
Generate AI SEO Content: Automatically generate optimized SEO titles and meta descriptions based on your existing product details.

Simultaneous Mapping Requirement: Always map both SEO page title and SEO meta description together during updates to prevent Shopify from resetting unmapped fields back to standard product titles or descriptions.
Export Unavailability: Direct SEO title and meta description mappings apply to Add and Update feed workflows only.

Issue: SEO meta description reverted to product description after sync → Solution: Ensure both the SEO page title and SEO meta description fields are mapped at the same time in Step 2.
Issue: SEO fields are missing from Export feed settings → Solution: Export feeds do not support direct SEO title/description mapping. Use metafield exports where applicable.
