How to Set Up Product URL and Handle Mapping

Go to App → Feed Settings → Step 2: Matching Column

Select Handle Field: Choose the URL / Handle field from the destination drop-down list.
Map Source Header: Map the corresponding URL slug or handle column from your feed file.
Save Settings: Save your feed settings before executing the feed process.

The URL handle creates the clean web address slug for your product page (for example, yourstore.com/products/sample-product).

The Product Handle field is NOT available on the Update feed type because modifying product handles changes live store URLs and disrupts existing links.

URL Disruption Prevention: Updating handles on existing products changes live web links, breaking existing internal links, backlinks, and search engine indexes. Consequently, the Update feed type strictly blocks handle modifications.

Troubleshooting Steps

Issue: The Handle field is missing in Step 2 Matching Column → Solution: Verify your feed action type. Switch your feed type from Update to Add or Export if you need to map URL handles.
Issue: Product URL slug contains invalid characters → Solution: Clean up your source data or apply Find and Replace rules in Smart Settings to strip illegal symbols or spaces before running the feed.
