The Auto Clear Discontinued feature automatically removed or archived when their variants are no longer found in the connected Update Feed. This helps keep the store clean and up to date with the supplier's current product availability.

By default, the Auto Clear Discontinued feed will archive any products that are no longer present in the update feed. This behaviour can be changed in Advanced Settings (Step 4) to permanently remove products instead. For example, if a supplier removes 20 products from their feed, those 20 products will be automatically archived or deleted from the store based on the chosen setting.

Two Ways to Set Up Auto Clear Discontinued Feed

1) From the New Setup Page

1. Go to New Setup > Remove.
2. Choose the template: Auto Clear Discontinued.
3. Select an existing Update Feed to link it to.
4. Click Next to proceed to Matching Column (Step 2). → This step can be skipped when using a template.
5. Click Next to go to the Filter section (Step 3). Refer to this article for more details: Store Product Filter
6. Click Next to go to Advanced Settings (Step 4).

7. Click Finish to complete the setup.
8. The feed will run automatically after the selected Update Feed finishes processing and detects products that are no longer present.

2) From the Update Feed Details Page

1. Open the Update Feed Details page.
2. Click the Setup here link under Auto Clear Discontinued.

Typical Setup Example

• Add Feed to import new products from supplier.
• Update Feed to update existing product details and stock.
• Remove Feed (Auto Clear Discontinued) linked to the Update Feed to remove or archive products no longer found in the supplier file. This remove feed runs automatically after the Update Feed finishes.

Additional Notes

• Auto Clear Discontinued only evaluates products included in the Update Feed’s filters. If filters (such as brand or tag) are applied, only those filtered products will be archived or removed.
• When using multiple update feeds, only the products belonging to the specific update feed will be considered missing. To avoid unintended archiving, apply store product filters so each feed manages only its own product group.
• If products from different suppliers share the store, you can assign a static tag using the Tags field (Fixed Value) in each feed’s mapping. This ensures the Remove Feed targets only products tagged for that specific supplier.
• Archiving works at the product level, not the variant level. A single variant that disappears from the feed cannot be archived if other variants of the same product are still present. To archive a multi‑variant product only when all its variants are missing from the feed, ensure Partial Match is disabled.
• Variant‑level discontinuations can only be handled by setting the variant quantity to 0 using the Out‑of‑Stock Strategy; they cannot trigger archiving unless the whole product qualifies.
• Shopify Suspended products cannot be archived or modified by Stock Sync; they must be resolved directly within Shopify.
