Additional Reasons Why Your Feed May Stop Working

When a feed stops working, several less common issues may be the cause. Below are additional scenarios and the steps required to resolve them.

1. Google Sheet Feeds: Missing Required Permissions

If your Google Sheet feed stops loading values, ensure the required service account has access. Add the following email with Viewer permission:

stock-sync@appspot.gserviceaccount.com

Make sure the sheet name selected in the feed settings matches the actual sheet name.

2. Multiple Feeds Using the Same File: File Renamed After First Run

If multiple feeds pull from the same FTP or directory file and only the first feed runs successfully, the issue may be that the file is being renamed after the first download.

Fix:

  • Edit each feed
  • Go to Step 1
  • Set “After Process” to "Do nothing"

This prevents the first feed from renaming or moving the file.

3. Automated Notifications Not Triggering

If you expect notifications for failed feeds, enable them under:
Account > Notifications > Sync Failure.

Some stores may already have custom adjustments allowing alerts on any failed sync.

4. Supplier Blocking Access (Cloudflare or Firewall)

If a feed URL loads in a browser but Stock Sync reports HTML or connection errors, the supplier may be blocking Stock Sync as a bot.

Ask supplier to whitelist:
52.20.189.51

5. Feed Missing Files at Scheduled Run Times

If your feed uses patterns like /IN/%Y-%m-%d-*-PRODUCT.CSV and reports
"File not exist in directory," it may be running before the file becomes available.

Fix:

  • Ensure the supplier's upload times occur before your feed schedule.

6. Duplicate SKUs Not Updating

If some products do not update because multiple products share the same SKU, enable:
Matching Column (Step 2) > Product Identifier > Update duplicate products with the same product identifier.

If a supplier provides a URL but the file is actually delivered by email, use:
Receive Email with Attachment connection method.

8. Check for Error Lists

Some failed feeds contain an "Error List." Review it to locate problematic data preventing updates.

These checks help resolve less obvious causes of feed failure. If the feed still does not run, contact support with your feed name and latest run details.
