How do I enable auto-forwarding in Gmail with Subject-Based filters?
Gmail allows you to automatically forward incoming emails to another email address. You can also create a filter to forward only emails that contain specific words or phrases in the subject, which helps prevent unrelated emails from being forwarded.
Before You Start
Make sure you have:
- Access to the Gmail account receiving the emails.
- The email address you want to forward the emails to.
- The specific subject keywords you want Gmail to filter.
Step 1: Add Email Forwarding
- Open Gmail.
- Click the Settings icon.
- Select See all settings.
- Open the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.

- Click Add a forwarding address.
- Enter the email address where you want to forward the emails.
- Get the email address from the Stock Sync email connection feed in the Step 1 Feed Manager's Receive email field, and enter it in the forwarding address.

Step 2: Create a Subject-Based Filter
After you enable forwarding, create a Gmail filter to forward only relevant emails.

- In Gmail, click See all settings, then Filters and Blocked Addresses.
- Click Create a new filter.
- Enter the email address to forward to.
- Choose the forwarding email address you added earlier.
- In the Subject field, enter the keyword or phrase that should trigger forwarding.
Example
If you only want to forward emails with "Stock Sync" in the subject:
Subject: Stock Sync
Gmail will forward emails matching this subject filter while leaving unrelated emails in your inbox.
Tip: Use specific subject keywords that reliably identify the emails you want to forward. This helps avoid accidentally forwarding unrelated messages.
