How to Ensure Your Feed File Settings Align With Requirements
To ensure your feed file works correctly with the system, make sure the file structure, mapping, and routing settings match what the app expects.
Common checks:
• Verify the header row is positioned as the first row of the file. If the header appears later in the sheet, adjust file settings or mapping by column index.
• Confirm required columns such as TITLE, PRODUCT NAME, or EAN/UPC exist. If a required column is missing, the feed may not map or import correctly.
• Ensure the file extension setting matches the actual file format (CSV, XLS, TXT). Mismatched formats will cause errors like “file can't be read.”
• For quantity fields, only direct numeric values are accepted. Values like 10+ need rules applied to convert them into actual numbers.
• If using multiple feeds, confirm each feed has its own correct routing such as unique email or subject. Incorrect routing may cause files to appear under the wrong feed.
• If the file is downloaded automatically multiple times, set the After Process action to Do nothing so the file is not renamed or removed before other feeds can use it.
• For fixed-width files, all rows must follow the same width structure. Inconsistent formatting will cause data to be read incorrectly and needs to be corrected by the supplier.
• If loading via URL, ensure the URL is accessible and not blocked by firewall or server restrictions.
Following these steps ensures the feed file aligns with system requirements and can be processed successfully.
