How to Set Up Image ALT Texts Export
Clear UI navigation path: Go to App → Feed Settings → Step 2: Matching Column
- Add Field: Click Add more fields to select a new product field for your export setup.
- Select Image ALT Texts: Search for and select Image ALT Texts from the list of available export fields.
- Configure Column Name: Map it to your desired export column header (e.g.,
Image ALT Text). - Save and Run: Save your export feed settings and run the export process.

Key Rules & Technical Details
- Store Data Dependency: This field reads ALT texts stored on Shopify image assets. If an image has no ALT text configured in Shopify Admin, the exported field will remain blank.
- Multiple Images: For products with multiple images, exported ALT text strings will correspond to the primary product image or listed image order in Shopify.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Issue: Image ALT Text column is blank in exported file → Solution: Verify that ALT texts are populated on the image media files directly in your Shopify Admin before running the export.
- Issue: Exported file is missing Image ALT Text header → Solution: Ensure you saved changes in Step 2: Matching Column after mapping the Image ALT Texts field.
