How to Set Up Product Video Links

Clear UI navigation path: Go to App → Feed Settings → Step 2: Matching Column

Add Field: Click Add more field and select Product Video Links.
Select Feed Column: Choose the column from your feed file containing YouTube or Vimeo URLs.
Configure Smart Settings: Click the gear icon next to the mapped Product Video Links field to adjust video update behavior, Alt text mapping, or column separators.
Save Configuration: Click Save to confirm your field settings.

Direct downloadable video file formats (e.g., .mp4, .mov) are not supported by Shopify media imports. Video links must be hosted on YouTube or Vimeo.

Product Video Links Smart Settings & Detailed Breakdown

1. Video Update Mode

Control how video link updates behave when syncing existing products in your store catalog.

Available on: ✔️ Update only

Only add video links if product has no video link: Default setting. Populates video media only when a product currently has no video links attached.
Skip existing video links and import new video links: Preserves existing store videos while appending new valid YouTube or Vimeo URLs found in the feed.

2. Video Links Alt Column Mapping

Map a secondary column to serve as accessible Alt display text or replacement text if video URLs fail to load.

3. Video Links Column Separator

Specify the delimiter character used when multiple video URLs are stored in a single feed cell.

By default, Stock Sync uses Auto selection. If video URLs contain commas, set the separator manually to a pipe (|) or a distinct delimiter.

4. Skip Update When Feed Value is Blank

Skips updating product videos if the mapped video link cell in the feed file is empty.

Enabled by default to prevent blank feed cells from erasing existing product video links.

Key Rules & Technical Details

Supported Video Platforms: Shopify requires hosted video links from YouTube or Vimeo. Direct file download links (e.g., MP4 links, Google Drive files, or S3 download links) will fail.
Blank Value Exclusions: Numerical 0 or '0' is treated as a valid value, not a blank cell.

Troubleshooting Steps

Issue: Video links fail to import or media processing errors occur → Solution: Verify that the video URLs originate from supported hosting platforms (YouTube or Vimeo) and are publicly accessible.
Issue: Multiple video URLs in a single cell are not separating → Solution: Change the Video Links Column Separator setting from Auto to the exact delimiter character used in your feed file.
Issue: Blank cells in feed are removing store video links → Solution: Ensure Skip update when feed value is blank is enabled in the field's Smart Settings.
