Remove or archive unwanted products from store with remove feed

The Remove Feed in syncX: Stock Sync is used to automatically remove or archive products from the Shopify store. This is useful for cleaning up discontinued items or outdated inventory, either by uploading a file or by detecting which items are no longer present in a regular update feed.

How to Set Up a Remove Feed

  1. Go to the syncX: Stock Sync dashboard and click:

New Setup > Remove or archive unwanted products

  1. A confirmation prompt will appear. Click Confirm to proceed.
  2. Choose or search for the connection source to be used with this remove feed (e.g., Google Sheets, FTP, Dropbox, etc.).

Two Ways to Use the Remove Feed

1. Upload a file that lists products to be removed or archived

When uploading a file in the Remove Feed setup, only the products listed in that file will be removed or archived from the store.

For example:

  • If the uploaded file contains 5 SKUs, only those 5 products will be removed or archived during the sync.

2. Auto-remove products NOT FOUND in the Update Feed

Alternatively, syncX: Stock Sync can automatically remove or archive products that are missing from the update feed.

This method is explained in detail here:

🔗 Automatically Remove or Archive When Product Is Missing in Feed

With this setup:

  • Products in the store that are not found in the latest update feed will be removed or archived after the update feed runs.
  • Ideal for keeping the store clean and in sync with live supplier availability.

Summary

The Remove Feed in syncX: Stock Sync is essential for keeping a Shopify store’s catalog accurate and up to date. Whether using a file upload or an automated check against the update feed, it provides control over what stays in the store—and what gets removed or archived.
