Remove or archive unwanted products from store with remove feed

The Remove Feed in syncX: Stock Sync is used to automatically remove or archive products from the Shopify store. This helps clean up discontinued items or outdated inventory—either by uploading a specific file or by detecting products that are no longer present in an Update Feed.

Watch the full video walkthrough here:

How to Set Up a Remove Feed

  1. Go to the syncX: Stock Sync dashboard and click:

New Setup > Remove or archive unwanted products

  1. A confirmation prompt will appear. Click Confirm to proceed.
  2. Choose or search for the connection source to use with this Remove Feed (e.g., Google Sheets, FTP, Dropbox, etc.).

Two Ways to Use the Remove Feed

1. Upload a file that lists products to be removed or archived

When uploading a file in the Remove Feed setup, only the matching products that exist in both the uploaded file AND your store will be removed or archived.

Important clarification:

  • Products listed in the file but NOT found in the store will be ignored.
  • Products in the store but NOT listed in the file will remain untouched.

Example:

  • Store contains 8 products
  • Uploaded file contains 5 SKUs
  • If all 5 SKUs match products in the store → those 5 will be removed or archived
  • The remaining 3 products in the store will stay unchanged

Unmatched products are not affected.

2. Auto-remove products NOT FOUND in the Update Feed

Alternatively, syncX: Stock Sync can automatically remove or archive products that are missing from the Update Feed.

This method is explained in detail here:

🔗 Automatically Remove or Archive When Product Is Missing in Feed

With this setup:

  • Products in the store that are not found in the latest Update Feed will be removed or archived after the Update Feed finishes running.
  • Ideal for keeping the store aligned with live supplier availability.

Summary

The Remove Feed in syncX: Stock Sync helps maintain a clean and accurate Shopify store. Whether using a file upload or an automated comparison with the Update Feed, it ensures only the intended products are removed or archived.
