Troubleshooting Product Sync Not Working Correctly

When product sync is not working correctly, the cause is often related to feed setup, filtering, file access, or required fields. Below are the issues confirmed in support cases and how to resolve them.

Preview Sync vs. Actual Update

If your preview sync shows incorrect inventory, remember that preview sync does not update your store. You must run the actual sync by clicking Start Process. Only then will product inventory be updated.

No Match Found During Sync

If no products are matched even though SKUs or barcodes appear correct, check if a filter is preventing products from being included. Removing or adjusting the filter can allow matching to work again.

Missing or Incorrect Column Names

If products fail to be added or updated, verify that the required column names are present in your feed file. For example, if the PRODUCT NAME or TITLE column is missing, the system cannot map data, and no products will sync.

FTP or Server Connection Issues

If products are not updating and your feed uses FTP, ensure the correct host and port are provided and that the server allows access. Even if the update feed works for one file, a different file on the same server may still fail if access is restricted.

Filters Applied in the Wrong Place

When syncing between stores, applying filters inside an Update Feed will not filter incoming products. Filters that control which products are imported must be placed in the Manage Account section or by using the Incoming Feed Filter.

If products were added before applying filters, undo the previous add to remove the unfiltered products, then re-run the feed.

Required Fields in Add Feeds

For Add feeds, SKU, Title, and Price fields are mandatory. Price cannot be removed; however, you can set a fixed value such as 0 if you do not want to use prices from the file.

Duplicate Product Syncing

Stock Sync does not support automatically syncing inventory between duplicated products within the same store without a feed source. Inventory linking between duplicate products is not available.

Barcode/SKU Mapping Issues

If trying to sync via barcode and a leading zero causes mismatches, you can use the feed prefix setting to remove the zero. If using a syntax filter in a template, ensure the correct quotation format, such as data["EAN Nummer"].

When Reporting a Sync Issue

If you still experience problems, provide a sample SKU and a description of what is missing or incorrect. This allows support to check the specific product behavior and feed mapping.

These troubleshooting steps reflect confirmed real-world resolutions and should help identify why your sync is not behaving as expected.
