Troubleshooting Stock Feed Update Issues in syncX: Stock Sync

This guide covers the most common reasons stock feed updates fail in syncX: Stock Sync, along with the steps you can take to diagnose and resolve issues.

Verify You Are Using the Correct Feed Type

  • Use an Update feed when you want to update existing products or variants (for example, updating stock quantity).
  • Use an Add feed when you want to import new products into your store.

If you use an Update feed but your store does not yet contain the products, you may see messages like "Store is empty".

Ensure Required Fields Are Mapped

For Update feeds, at minimum you need to map:

  • SKU
  • Quantity

If the file lacks required fields for Add feeds (such as Product Title or Price), the feed cannot import new products. Verify that your supplier’s file includes these fields.

Test Run the Feed

Use the Test Run feature to quickly confirm whether:

  • The feed URL is accessible
  • The system can read your file
  • The field mapping is correct

Check Whether the Feed Is Actually Updating

If a feed appears to return no matches or you believe it is not running:

  • Go to Recent Activity Logs to confirm when the feed last updated and how many variants were processed.
  • Even if a file preview does not display as expected, the activity logs may show that the feed is updating products correctly.

Verify the File or Source URL

If a feed shows 0 matches or the file cannot be read:

  • Confirm the file exists at the URL
  • Check that the file name and path are correct
  • Ensure the file is accessible without login requirements
  • If apply any filters, check that the filters are correct

When to Contact Support

If you see unexpected errors, missing updates, or cannot determine which part of the process is failing, contact support with:

  • The feed name
  • The feed URL
  • A description of which part is not working

This helps us identify the cause quickly and provide guidance.
