What features does Stock Sync offer for inventory management?

Stock Sync provides several tools to automate and streamline inventory management. These include multi‑feed stock updates, allowing you to combine quantities from multiple suppliers using rules such as overwriting, adding quantities, or applying math modifiers (for example, subtracting buffer stock). You can also set minimum quantity rules to prevent negative stock levels.

Stock Sync supports the Out of Stock Strategy, which resets inventory to zero for products missing from a supplier feed, and this can be applied per inventory location. Filters allow you to limit updates to specific vendors, tags, or categories, useful for large catalogs or plan limits. The app also handles custom JSON feeds, price and quantity sync, SKU‑based matching, feed scheduling, and large catalog processing depending on plan selection.

Additional inventory-management features include:

  • Preview Sync: Review proposed changes before applying a full sync, including the variants that would be updated.
  • Multiple independent feeds: Create separate feeds for different suppliers or sources, such as APIs, CSV files, FTP/SFTP, Google Sheets, or spreadsheets hosted in Dropbox.
  • Real-time and scheduled updates: Real-time sync can update existing products when quantities change in the main store. API connections support scheduled updates, including daily, hourly, or specific-time schedules; the highest stated frequency is once per hour.
  • Product creation and updates: Feeds can be configured to update existing products or add new products, with field mapping such as SKU and Quantity.
  • Quantity Zero Alert: Configure a threshold that pauses a feed when an unusually high percentage of products would be set to zero, helping prevent accidental inventory changes.
  • Inventory Policy: Map the Inventory Policy field to allow products to continue selling when out of stock, subject to the Shopify theme and store configuration.
  • Quantity rules: Limit or modify quantities, such as displaying a maximum quantity from a supplier.

Stock Sync synchronizes inventory data from configured sources to Shopify; it does not determine which physical location fulfills an order during checkout. That allocation is handled by Shopify or a dedicated inventory-management app.
