What is Feed Manager (Step 1) ?

The Feed Manager is the first step in setting up a feed in syncX: Stock Sync. This step involves configuring the connection between the app and the source or destination of the data.

What Happens in the Feed Manager?

In this step, the connection method is selected, and relevant details are entered to allow syncX: Stock Sync to access the data source. The setup includes:

  • Choosing the connection type
  • Entering the connection settings
  • Selecting the correct file format for the data

This ensures the system can retrieve or send data correctly before proceeding to field mapping and product updates.

Common Connection Types

Below are the most frequently used connection options in syncX: Stock Sync:

  • FTP / SFTP / FTPS

Connect securely to a server using login credentials. Commonly used for large or scheduled data transfers.

Connect via a shareable Google Sheets link. Useful for data that is maintained or updated regularly in spreadsheets.

Use a direct or authenticated download link from a website or external source.

Other supported methods may include Dropbox, Google Drive, Amazon S3, and others.

Selecting the File Format

After choosing the connection type, select the appropriate file format to match the source data:

  • CSV
  • XLS/XLSX (Excel)
  • TXT
  • XML
  • JSON

The file format must match the actual structure of the data to ensure syncX: Stock Sync processes the feed correctly.

Summary

The Feed Manager step tells syncX: Stock Sync where the data comes from and how it should be read. Proper setup here is essential for a smooth and accurate sync process in the later steps, such as field mapping (Matching Column) and automation settings.
