What should I do if my product variants are not updating correctly in Stock Sync?

If variant updates are not applying correctly, check your feed mapping and variant identifiers. Ensure the Variant Group field is mapped consistently (e.g., using Handle) so that multiple rows for one product are merged correctly. If variant option data (e.g., Size) is missing from the supplier feed, request your supplier to include it. When duplicate variants share the same identifier, enable "Update duplicate products with the same product identifier", so all matching variants update. In some cases, deleting the affected product from your store and allowing Stock Sync to re-import it can restore correct variant grouping and syncing.

Additional notes:

• If variant updates are incorrect or quantities double on each sync, check that each field (especially Quantity) is mapped only once. Duplicate quantity column mappings can cause Stock Sync to add values instead of overwrite.
• If variants do not update because option values appear in the wrong order, ensure the option columns in your feed match the original variant option order in Shopify (e.g., Size, then Color). Shopify requires a consistent option sequence for updates to apply correctly.
• If all variants share the same SKU, configure the Product Identifier using a combination such as SKU + Option 1 + Option 2 to allow Stock Sync to match and update each variant individually.
• If a quantity rule or formula does not apply, verify Smart Settings and request technical review if the rule still fails to process.
• Variants may fail to update or appear as missing if products have exclusion tags applied in Stock Sync—remove these tags to allow updates.
• Update feeds cannot create new variants; new variant options must be imported through an Add feed.
• Variant imports will fail if required option values (e.g., Size, Color, Flavor) are missing in the feed. In cases where products contain inconsistent variant structures, separate Add feeds may be required for each variant combination.
