What steps should I take to rebuild or update product variants in Shopify?

If variant quantity syncing fails because multiple variants share the same SKU or their unique identifiers were lost, the variants must be rebuilt with proper unique identifiers. The simplest way to do this is to run an Add feed again using the following fields:

• Variant Group

• Variant Option

• Unique SKUs for each variant (not a shared group ID)

This will recreate variants correctly under each product.

If the variants already exist but their unique identifier was removed, you can assign a temporary unique value such as barcode, another unique column from your feed, or a variant metafield. Stock Sync can use any of these fields as the product identifier.

Once every variant in Shopify has a unique identifier again, the Update feed will be able to match and update quantities correctly.
