Why are my products not updating from Google Sheets?

Products may fail to update from Google Sheets if the feed cannot read the correct data. Common causes include:

  • Stock Sync lacks permission to access the sheet. To fix this, you can either change the file sharing settings to "Anyone with the link", or keep the file private and add stock-sync@appspot.gserviceaccount.com with Edit permission.

  • The Product Identifier is mapped to the wrong column. Stock Sync must point to the exact column containing your SKU or chosen identifier. If the mapping points to a column number or name that does not match the sheet, the app cannot detect variants.

  • The Google Sheets connection type is incorrect. Switching between Google Sheets and Google Sheets (Published) may cause the app to read document metadata instead of the sheet contents. Use the standard Google Sheets connection when possible.

  • The Sheet name does not match the tab name inside the Google Sheet. The tab name shown at the bottom of the spreadsheet must exactly match the feed setup.

  • Product data is missing from the sheet. Any SKU not present in the sheet will appear as unmatched and cannot be updated.

Fixing the access permissions, mapping, sheet name, or connection type and ensuring all required data exists in the sheet will allow the sync to run correctly.
