Why are my SKUs not updating even though they exist in the feed?
If SKUs in your feed are not updating in Stock Sync, even though they are present in the file, the most common causes are:
• Hidden characters in the header (such as BOM symbols) that prevent correct column recognition. In this case, mapping the SKU column by index number instead of by column name will fix the issue.
• Duplicate SKUs in the store or feed. If multiple products share the same SKU, ensure the setting "Update duplicate products with same product identifier" is enabled.
• SKU formatting differences, such as spaces, capitalization, or supplier prefixes. Make sure the SKU in the feed matches the store SKU exactly.
• Missing SKUs in the supplier feed. If a SKU appears in your store but is not present in your supplier’s file, Stock Sync cannot update it. These will appear in the Unmatched Variants report.
• Product status is manually changed in the store. If a product or variant has been manually unpublished or set to inactive in the store, Stock Sync will not automatically republish it unless your feed is configured to update the product status. Set the product back to Active to allow updates to resume.
• Incorrect or inconsistent product identifiers (e.g., using Handle + Option when the supplier places size or color in a different option field). Ensure the product identifier matches how the supplier structures their variants.
• Incorrect inventory location settings. Ensure the correct location is selected for updates.
• Feed issues such as invalid URLs or files containing hidden BOM characters. Update the feed link or map the affected column by index number to bypass encoding issues.
If SKUs are still not updating, check the feed activity logs for errors and confirm the SKU is present at the time of processing.
