Why Are Only Some Products Uploading? Troubleshooting Partial Imports

When only part of your product feed is imported, it usually means certain rows in the file are being skipped due to filters, missing data, or variant‑grouping issues. Below are the most common causes and how to fix them, based on real cases.

Common Reasons Products Are Not Imported

1. Incoming Feed Filters Exclude Certain Products

Products may be skipped when their values do not satisfy the feed filters you applied. Examples include:

• Image filters (e.g., "exclude products without IMAGE01") skip any row where that column is blank.

• Status filters (e.g., excluding ITEM_STATUS = OBSOLETE) prevent those items from importing.

• SIZE filters skip products where SIZE is "NA" or empty.

Fix: Review your feed filters and verify whether the skipped products match your filter rules.

2. Missing or Empty Variant Grouping Fields

If your products include variants, Stock Sync requires a consistent grouping value (e.g., Style Code) across all variants.

If the grouping field is blank or inconsistent:

• Variants cannot be grouped correctly

• Some items may import as separate products

• Some variants may be skipped entirely

Fix: Ensure your supplier includes a consistent grouping column with the same value for all variants of the same product.

3. SIZE Filter Conflicts

If SIZE is required for variant options, but:

• SIZE = "NA"

• SIZE is empty

• A SIZE filter excludes certain values

then the product will be skipped.

Fix:

• Remove or modify the SIZE filter, or

• Create a separate feed for products that have SIZE = NA.

4. Variant Option Field Mapping Contains Blank Values

If any mapped variant option field contains a blank value (e.g., Size, Color), the row will fail to upload.

Fix: Fill blank variant option fields in the feed or remove the variant option mapping temporarily.

5. Filters Create Conflicting Conditions

Using multiple filters that contradict each other can cause all products to be excluded.

Example:

• "Exclude products with size variants"

• "Include only products with SIZE = NA"

If both filters are active, no variant products will pass.

Fix: Review the full filter list to ensure there are no conflicting rules.

How to Identify Which Products Were Skipped

  1. Review the Preview Sync to see which rows are passed or skipped.
  2. Compare skipped items with your filter rules or variant mappings.
  3. Temporarily remove filters to test whether the products import.

Temporary Workarounds

• Remove filters, run the import, then add the filters back.

• Split data into two feeds (e.g., one feed for SIZE = NA and one for products with proper sizes).

• Ask the supplier to adjust the file (e.g., add missing style codes, fill empty variant fields).

By reviewing filters, variant mappings, and missing fields, you can identify why only some products are importing and resolve the issue quickly. If you need help verifying which rows should pass based on your filter setup, feel free to contact support with sample product codes.
